On Sunday, May 6th, some members of the Mehfil Events team attended “The Business of Fashion”, a discussion panel and fashion show held by the Organization of Pakistani-American Entrepreneurs of North America (OPEN). The speakers included prominent women fashion designers in the DC metro region. Some of the businesses represented were Heritage Collection by Ashraf Valliani, Rangoli by Huma, Mirage Collection by Saba Chugtai, and Besty Fisher, a prominent DC boutique owner. Among the panelists was also Nina O’Neil, whose specially designed wool hats were worn by celebrities on the popular TV show “Gossip Girls”. The focus of the event was to appreciate women entrepreneurs in the fashion business and also serve as a sense of inspiration for individuals beginning their careers in this field. The Mehfil Events team enjoyed listening to the unique stories of each of the panelists. Their individual success stories served as a sense of inspiration for our own marketing and event management services within the world of fashion.
